One of my favorite things about a new year are the resolutions that can come with it - It’s like a fresh new start. You set new goals that your just itching to accomplish. You develop a go-getter attitude. You care less about the setbacks and just think about the endless possibilities ahead of you.
The past few years, I’ve set out to accomplish many things. It all began when I stumbled upon an inspirational twelve by 2012 post (by hello friend). It was at that moment when I chose to set a list of my own small goals. Some were more on the silly side, while others seemed virtually unattainable - hello trying to drive a standard car! But nonetheless, I found myself finishing each and every wish on the list (things seem so much more attainable when you take the time to dissect what you truly want to accomplish). I continued into the next year with a thirteen by 2013 post, and now, looking back I am amazed to see how much I have grown.
“That’s the thing about human life—there is no control group, no way to ever know how any of us would have turned out if any variables had been changed.”—Daniel Keyes, Flowers for Algernon (via definitelydope)
“Everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world, I mean everybody — no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they’ve all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds… Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe.”—Neil Gaiman (The Sandman, Vol. 5: A Game Of You)
